What is Podcasting?

Podcasting is a way of publishing files (usually audio and/or video format) via the Internet that allows you to create a "subscription" to receive new files automatically. Typically these files are audio recordings that can be stored and played on computers or small digital music players, such as an iPod™ or a Sony VAIO Pocket™ or any .mp3 player. The Audio files can even be converted to a "CD" format and played back on any CD player.

Podcasts are like internet "Radio Shows" you can listen to at your convenience. This technology is opening up a great new avenue for people and businesses to "get their word out." If you get to Itunes I suggest you look through the Podcast directory. I think you will be amazed at what is available. The great part is that nearly all of it is free! Once you subscribe to a Podcast it will update occasionally with new episodes. If you decide that a particular Podcast is not for you, simply "unsubscribe" and you will no longer get updates. That's it, no questions asked! This is a really great tool for learning.

To subscribe to SaintStudy Podcasts you will need to use a "podcatching" software, such as iPodder or iTunes. These programs check the RSS "feed" file on the SaintStudy Web site ( for new material to download to your computer or digital audio player. Users of iTunes can find our feed file by typing in "saintstudy" in the search window in the upper right corner. (RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication)

If you click on RSS feeds below, they will automatically get you to the feeds. (The Itunes feed will only work if you have itunes on your computer. Itunes is a free download [itunes free download - click here!]) The RSS link will let you make a bookmark in your favorites if you want.
